Enterprise IT is moving beyond traditional monitoring as AI-driven observability helps organizations manage complex infrastructure and respond to incidents faster.
At this week’s LogicMonitor Elevate event in Chicago, the focus was on bringing together operational data, AI automation and governance to address challenges across hybrid environments. The results are becoming tangible. GlobalFoundries reported a 98% reduction in alert noise through Edwin AI, while managed service providers highlighted improvements in incident resolution and engineering efficiency. These developments reflect LogicMonitor’s push toward autonomous IT, though questions remain about adoption, trust and operational oversight.
“Observability is becoming an important foundation for both human decision-making as well as autonomous workflows,” said Paul Nashawaty, practice lead and principal analyst for application development at theCUBE Research. “The opportunity is to connect performance, availability, resources utilization, as well as costs, so that engineering teams can understand operational trade-offs behind the problem.”
Nashawaty spoke with technology executives, customers and partners during the event. TheCUBE’s coverage explored how Edwin AI, OpenTelemetry, application dependency mapping and governed automation are changing enterprise operations. Conversations also addressed the growing importance of digital experience monitoring, the changing role of managed service providers and the practical challenges of moving AI from experimentation into production. Here are eight key insights from the event:
Enterprise observability is moving beyond static dashboards and endless alerts as AI-driven operations demand greater context, automation and control. Steven Dickens, chief executive officer of HyperFRAME Research, joined theCUBE Research’s Nashawaty to assess LogicMonitor’s keynote announcements and its five strategic pillars, including unified context, AI-governed action and trust. The discussion highlighted how OpenTelemetry, Edwin AI and Catchpoint are helping shape LogicMonitor’s approach to connecting complex hybrid environments and delivering actionable insights directly into existing workflows. Dickens also emphasized that customer adoption, effective governance and execution will ultimately determine whether LogicMonitor can turn its AI roadmap into measurable operational value.

Enterprises are turning to autonomous IT to reduce operational complexity, automate incident resolution and build trust in AI-driven systems. A progressive approach that starts with trusted, low-risk automation can help organizations expand AI capabilities across increasingly complex environments, according to LogicMonitor’s Karthik Sj (pictured, left), chief artificial intelligence officer, and Garth Fort (right), chief product officer. The company’s latest Edwin AI enhancements extend those capabilities through multi-agent investigations, integrations with existing workflows and governed automation. Catchpoint integration and governance controls further support this transition by improving visibility into application performance while maintaining oversight of autonomous agents.

Successful AI transformation requires more than deploying new technology, with employee trust, leadership and organizational change playing critical roles in adoption. Alyene Schneidewind, chief performance officer of LogicMonitor, shared how the company achieved 95% employee adoption of ChatGPT within four months and saw employees create more than 2,000 custom GPTs during the first year. That internal transformation has shifted toward redesigning workflows and measuring business outcomes, including an AI sales assistant that saves employees half a day each week. Governance, cross-functional collaboration and new approaches to workforce development are also helping the company rethink how teams operate and how AI investments translate into business value.

Managed service providers are rethinking traditional IT operations as AI automation creates opportunities to reduce costs, improve incident resolution and free technical teams for higher-value work. AI-powered observability and autonomous workflows are helping organizations move beyond reactive support toward more proactive service delivery, according to John Grosshans, president of field operations at LogicMonitor, and Tim Wheeler, chief artificial intelligence officer of Bell Techlogix Inc. Bell Techlogix is using AI assistants to streamline incident triage, automate documentation and reduce resolution times, while LogicMonitor is helping organizations progress toward autonomous IT through unified data, event correlation and governed automation. The shift is also changing the role of managed service providers, with greater emphasis on measurable business outcomes, customer relationships and proactive problem resolution.

Fragmented IT environments are pushing enterprises to rethink how they manage observability, automation and service delivery across hybrid infrastructure. Consolidating disconnected tools and standardizing operations can help organizations improve efficiency and accelerate AI adoption, according to Ryan Crosby, vice president of intelligent operations sales at AHEAD. One customer reduced its technology footprint from 72 tools to seven platforms, simplifying its support model and creating a foundation for greater automation. Building toward autonomous IT also requires executive leadership, strong governance and an integrated approach that connects observability with incident management, change control and automated remediation.

AI is changing the economics of managed services as providers shift from fixing incidents to preventing them and demonstrating measurable business value. Faster resolution times, improved service-level agreements and stronger customer retention are among the benefits emerging from AI adoption, according to Kyle Hill, chief technology officer of ANS Group Ltd., and Steve Smith, CTO of cloud services at Specialist Computer Centres PLC. At ANS, the adoption of Edwin AI has improved engineering efficiency and customer retention, while Smith highlighted an AI agent that identified a technical issue in roughly three minutes after engineers had spent 40 to 50 hours investigating it.
Building customer confidence in autonomous IT remains a gradual process, with governance, compliance and demonstrated results helping managed service providers expand automation while maintaining oversight.

Preventing disruptions in semiconductor manufacturing requires visibility into potential infrastructure problems before they affect production. At GlobalFoundries U.S. Inc., an observability modernization initiative has achieved 98% deployment in just six months, with Edwin AI reducing alert noise by 98%, according to Vishal Mehra, chief information officer. The company is also consolidating its observability tools, using dependency mapping to understand legacy applications and integrating AI-driven insights with ServiceNow to improve incident management. With executive sponsorship and a phased approach to automation, GlobalFoundries is working toward autonomous IT operations that can identify potential failures and enable preventive action before costly manufacturing disruptions occur.

Enterprise observability is moving beyond traditional monitoring toward a model that connects telemetry, operational context and governed AI to improve application reliability and incident response. In his closing analysis at Elevate, Nashawaty highlighted five priorities shaping this transition: enterprise data foundations, unified context, AI-governed action, integrated experiences and trust and governance. OpenTelemetry, Edwin AI and deeper integration with existing workflows are helping organizations connect infrastructure performance with business impact while reducing alert noise and improving root cause analysis.
The next phase of observability will depend on connecting operational evidence to informed decisions and governed automation, enabling enterprises to move from AI experimentation toward production-ready autonomous operations.
