A clean theme and tidy bullets make every line feel checked. Leadership reads "Overtime down 18% thanks to the shift swap app" and takes it as fact. If your notes only said overtime fell since the app arrived, you just made a claim you can't back up, in front of the people who approve your budget.
I run Stepthrough, free hands-on AI and software training for white-collar workers. In the lesson I built for this, the tool is Gamma (affiliate link: I may earn a commission, at no cost to you). The generating part takes a few clicks. This article is mostly about the part after that: reading the deck the way a skeptical VP will.
You are the operations manager at Brightwater Facilities Group. The business, its people, vans and suppliers are made up for the lesson. The Q3 review with leadership is Thursday, and all you have is this:
Q3 ops review - notes for Thursday leadership mtg on-time delivery 91% this qtr (Q2 was 86%), new route schedule helped a lot overtime down 18% since the shift swap app ticket backlog 140 open -> 62 open 2 new dispatchers started in Sept paper supplier late 4x in Aug, moved 2 sites to the backup vendor vans 3 + 7 past repair, about $48k to replace both Q4: replace 2 vans, renegotiate supplier contract, pilot a weekend shift ask: approve van budget by Oct 31 Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode Those nine lines are your source of truth. Every number on every slide should trace back to one of them.
The meeting has one real goal: get the van budget approved by October 31. If one number on one slide is off, the conversation turns to that number and the ask never gets discussed.
Gamma writes its own version every time, so your cards may come out in a different order from mine.
Put your nine lines next to the deck and read each card against them. In the lesson's run, the outline included cards like these:
The numbers survived. 91 against 86 is 5 points. $48k became $48,000. October 31 is right. Condense did its job.
The wording is where I slow down. Three things I'd flag:
You decide which of these to keep. The point is that you decide, not the generator.
Word it the way leadership will quote it back to you.
The change is already applied, so there's nothing to accept. If you dislike an edit, press Ctrl+Z.
The PDF keeps the design exactly, so it's the safest copy to email before the meeting. On the free plan, both files carry a small Made by Gamma badge. Click Present to rehearse full screen.
I built a free lesson where you do every step yourself in a practice copy of Gamma, with the same notes, the same Agent request and the same backlog fix. It checks your work as you go, takes about nine minutes, and nothing touches your real accounts: A Presentation from Your Notes in 5 Minutes (Gamma).
