It is currently an invite-based beta. I got in, activated the Free plan, and have been running two machines on it for about a week. Here is what is actually true about it.
As a free workbench for AI-agent experiments, I have not found anything else like it. If you are building agents that need a browser and a persistent Linux box, it is worth getting on the invite list at instabox.sh. Just do not plan your production hosting on a beta's free tier.
