These days, having only one AI subscription doesn't cut it, so many of us juggle numerous tools, harnesses, and subscriptions.

The most common problem: you're working on your project and about to finish it, but you hit your token or credit limit. Your quota resets in 7 days, but you need to deliver the project in 2 days.

You have 3 other subscriptions with plenty of quota left, so you decide to continue on one of those. The problem is that all your context and chat sessions are on your original account.

The traditional way to solve that is to create a handover prompt, but that can lose important chat history, memory, and other context the AI may need to reference. And it's a pain in the butt.

This constantly slowed me down. So I decided to build an open-source tool that lets you do this with a few clicks. It's called AI Juggler.

Plus, I didn't stop there. You can also create new profiles for the same accounts, see notifications in one place, and monitor RAM and CPU usage alongside token usage across supported tools. The best thing is that it works with your native desktop and CLI applications, so you keep their full benefits while getting an advanced orchestration tool on top.

Here's a quick walkthrough of how to continue a session on another account or tool.

You'll need macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon or Intel, plus Claude Code or Codex installed. Sign in to both the account you're using now and the account you want to continue on, using each tool's own sign-in.

Download AI Juggler from the GitHub releases page. It's free and MIT-licensed; your coding tool subscriptions are separate.

The screenshot comes from a development build and uses test data.

On first launch, choose Find my accounts. AI Juggler looks for your existing Claude Code and Codex setups. For each one, choose Use it where it is or Make a separate copy. If you make a copy, you'll need to sign in again in that copy.

One thing to keep in mind: a profile is a tool's setup, while an account is the subscription it uses. Two profiles signed in to the same account share its limits. To get more room, you need to continue on a different account that still has quota available.

If the account you want isn't there yet, add a profile from the Accounts page and sign in to it.

Select the session in AI Juggler, then choose Switch account… at the top. You can also open its menu and choose Continue on another account…. A finished conversation in History can be continued the same way.

The session doesn't have to have been started inside AI Juggler. Sessions from supported tools running elsewhere on your Mac can appear too.

Choose the target account, then a profile under it. Check how much quota it has left and how recent the reading is. Not measured yet means there isn't a reading available, so check the tool itself before choosing that account.

What happens next depends on where you're going:

Review What's carried before confirming. The screen also shows which settings, MCP servers, or other setup items the target is missing, and what can be copied or needs your input. Sign-ins don't move with the conversation.

Cross-tool handovers can shorten very long turns, and compacted conversations carry earlier material as a summary. Switching paths are marked beta until they've been checked live, so don't expect every transfer to preserve every detail.

If the session is still writing, choose whether to finish the current turn first or stop it now. AI Juggler can stop sessions it started itself; a session running in another app may keep going there, so check the screen and pause it in that app if needed.

Confirm the switch, then check that the new session knows the current task, the decisions you've already made, and what still needs doing before you let it continue.

When your original account has room again, you can switch back. The session panel offers Resume the original conversation, with the work done since the switch carried back to it.

The switching guide goes into more detail. If you'd like to see what AI Juggler reads, changes, and sends, that's covered in the privacy guide.

Right now, the tool is still in beta and rough around the edges, but I'm working toward a stable release within the next 1–2 weeks.

Check it out and let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions.
