Microsoft Clarity Launches Agentic Analytics as AI Agents Become Web Traffic

Microsoft Clarity has launched Agentic Analytics, a feature set that measures how AI agents use websites. The centerpiece is an Agent Activity dashboard showing which agents, including systems from OpenAI, Google and Anthropic, arrive on a site and what they do: search, form filling, logins, bookings and checkout. Early data is striking: per Microsoft, weekly agent sessions grew 88 percent in three weeks and are approaching 2 million.

The launch analysis covered 5.23 million agent sessions across 230,511 projects, and the top agent action is checkout at 25.21 percent of sessions. Beyond measurement, Clarity adds task simulations for commerce and travel scenarios, so teams can watch how funnels behave when an automated agent attempts a purchase or booking. Ask Clarity lets analysts query their data in natural language instead of building reports by hand.

Market context is clear: web traffic is slowly migrating from people to software acting on their behalf. Agents compare prices, fill forms, log in and complete transactions without opening a browser window. Analytics platforms built around human sessions face a new class of visitor that never scrolls without purpose and never abandons a cart over mood. Absolute numbers are still a fraction of total traffic, but the growth curve punishes late measurement.

Impact. Separate agent sessions from human sessions in analytics now, before the curves diverge. Since a quarter of agent sessions end at checkout, conversion paths deserve agentic testing: clean page structure, machine readable content, predictable forms and stable APIs become conversion levers. Teams that instrument agent behavior early will understand the segment first, and clean measurement today gives historical baselines when agent traffic becomes significant.
