What I Built I built NoBugs AI — an AI-powered log investigation and root-cause analysis platform.
When a server crashes or an API throws 500 errors, developers and DevOps engineers often spend hours reading through thousands of messy server log lines trying to find what went wrong.
Automatic Secret Redaction: Cleans API keys, passwords, and tokens from logs before analysis so private data never leaks. Incident Grouping: Automatically correlates related errors across microservices into a single incident. Visual Error Timeline: Draws an interactive graph showing when errors started and where frequency spikes occurred.
Root-Cause Analysis & Fixes: Pinpoints the exact root cause (e.g. database connection pool exhaustion, memory leak crash, crypto timestamp drift) and provides step-by-step remediation commands. Who would pay for it? Freelance backend developers, solo founders, and small startups.
Big enterprise tools like Datadog or Splunk cost $500+ a month and are too complex for smaller teams. A freelance developer or indie hacker would gladly pay $15–$25/month for a simple, fast tool that triages their client's server crashes without leaving their browser or exposing company secrets.
Demo Live Application: https://trideep091.github.io/nobugsai/
Uploading any.log or.txt file, or pasting raw log lines into the paste tab. Or clicking "Load Demo Scenario" (e.g., Database Connection Pool Exhaustion, OOM Worker Crash, or Payment Webhook Verification Failure). Viewing the dynamic metrics, timeline spikes, and tapping any log file to get an instant AI root-cause diagnosis! Code GitHub Repository: https://github.com/Trideep091/nobugsai Tech Stack:
Frontend: React, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Lucide icons Backend: FastAPI (Python 3.11), Pydantic, SQLite AI Engine: Local open-weight inference with Ollama (llama3.2:latest) & in-browser fallback engine Safety: Security redaction pipeline with regular expressions for AWS, Stripe, JWT, and credentials How I Built It NoBugs AI is built around open-weight, local AI models:
Local Open-Weight AI (Ollama + Llama 3.2): For the backend analysis engine, NoBugs AI connects to local open-weight models via Ollama. It feeds redacted log context and prompts the model to generate structured hypotheses, confidence scores, and verification steps. Client-Side Offline Engine: For browser-only environments and instant live demos, we also implemented an intelligent in-browser pattern and root-cause classifier.
This guarantees the app never breaks even if offline or hosted on serverless platforms. Data Security First: Every log entry runs through an automated redaction filter before AI processing, ensuring sensitive customer information stays protected. Why Does Open Innovation Matter?
Application logs are full of private customer data, IP addresses, database schemas, and session tokens.
Using closed-source proprietary AI APIs has huge downsides:
Privacy & Security: Companies cannot upload raw production logs to third-party cloud AI vendors without risking compliance violations. With open-weight models (running locally on your machine), your logs never leave your device. $0 Token Cost: Parsing 100,000 log lines through proprietary APIs can cost tens of dollars per incident. Running open-weight models on your own machine costs $0 in API fees, making the business model sustainable. Reliability & Independence: You are never locked into an external vendor's pricing changes or API outages during an ongoing production incident. My Agent Session I tracked and submitted the AI agent pairing session for this project through DevRelay:
Building NoBugs AI: AI-Powered Log Investigation Platform You Build NoBugs AI — an AI-powered log investigation and root-cause analysis platform that ingests logs, redacts secrets, classifies incidents, visualizes error timelines, and suggests fixes.
I am building the full-stack NoBugs AI platform with a FastAPI backend, React + Vite frontend, local open-weight AI inference (Ollama / Llama 3.2), and a regex redaction pipeline.
Initialize project structure, backend models, pipeline, and frontend dashboard Output Created FastAPI application, ingestion pipeline, incident models, timeline analyzer, and React dashboard. You Connect the frontend upload and explorer directly so that log analysis works offline and in production with dynamic graphs and root-cause suggestions.
Updated IngestionView and LogExplorerView to route through the resilient API service with local client-side log processing and incident classification fallback. Deployed live to Vercel.
npm run build && vercel --prod Output Build succeeded in 179ms. Production deployed at https://nobug091ai.vercel.app 4 of 4 messages Direct Link: Building NoBugs AI: AI-Powered Log Investigation Platform
My First User I shared NoBugs AI with a friend who works as a freelance backend developer running Node.js and PostgreSQL apps for clients.
They tested it with an actual HikariPool ConnectionTimeout log from a recent production hiccup. In less than 5 seconds, NoBugs AI:
Flagged the database pool exhaustion. Pointed out that slow unindexed queries were starving the active pool. Recommended exact config changes (max_connections) and query profiling commands. Their feedback:
"Usually, I spend 30 to 45 minutes digging through cloud logs with grep. This told me the root cause and the fix in 5 seconds. I would easily pay $20/month just to keep this in my developer toolkit for client emergencies."
