Every code snippet was run against the live API before publishing, and prices were re-checked against the live model list on 20 Oct 2026. OpenAI shut down Sora 2 and the Videos API on 24 September 2026 and did not replace it. Code that calls client.videos.create now fails. SayGM serves the same /v1/videos endpoints, so you can keep the OpenAI SDK and your polling and download logic. You change the base URL, the key and the model id.

Everything here was run against api.saygm.com (15 Oct 2026) with openai 2.24.0 (Python) and openai 7.34.0 (Node). The default download was re-checked on 20 Oct 2026.

A 4-second H3 clip cost $0.288. It was ready in about 45 seconds on 15 Oct, but a 20 Oct run took 11 minutes, so set generous poll timeouts. We got back a 1344x768 H.264 MP4 with AAC audio. A 12-second H3 clip cost $0.864. The live list is at saygm.com/models. H3 costs less on SayGM than on other providers ( price comparison ). Veo and Wan cost about the same as elsewhere. Their advantage on SayGM is that the same key and API also reach every LLM.

import os from openai import OpenAI client = OpenAI ( base_url = " https://api.saygm.com/v1 ", api_key = os. environ [ " GM_API_KEY " ]) video = client. videos. create ( model = " minimax/h3 ", prompt = " A paper boat drifting down a rainy street gutter, cinematic, close-up ", seconds = " 4 ", ) video = client. videos. poll ( video. id, poll_interval_ms = 5000 ) print ( video. status, video. usage ) # usage: output_video_seconds, cost if video. status == " completed ": client. videos. download_content ( video. id ). write_to_file ( " out.mp4 " ) Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode client.videos.create_and_poll, retrieve, list and with_streaming_response.download_content also work. delete returns 405, so let clips expire.

import OpenAI from " openai "; import fs from " node:fs "; const client = new OpenAI ({ baseURL: " https://api.saygm.com/v1 ", apiKey: process. env. GM_API_KEY }); let video = await client. videos. create ({ model: " minimax/h3 ", prompt: " A red kite over sea cliffs, aerial shot ", seconds: " 4 " }); while ( video. status === " queued " || video. status === " in_progress " ) { await new Promise (( r ) => setTimeout ( r, 5000 )); video = await client. videos. retrieve ( video. id ); } const res = await client. videos. downloadContent ( video. id ); fs. writeFileSync ( " out.mp4 ", Buffer. from ( await res. arrayBuffer ())); Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode The Node SDK 7.x has no videos.poll(), so write the loop yourself as above.

Try it: create a SayGM account (referral link — SayGM credits the referrer if you top up; it costs you nothing extra). Pay as you go by card, USDC or TAO; no subscription.
