TaskZen AI: A Smarter Way to Handle Everyday Tasks What I Built

TaskZen AI is an AI-powered productivity assistant designed to make everyday tasks easier and reduce repetitive work. It includes a text summarization feature to help users understand long content more quickly.

The goal is to make productivity simpler by reducing the effort required for routine tasks. I am building it with a focus on privacy and exploring local inference with open-source AI models.

The project is currently running locally during development.

I built TaskZen AI using Python and FastAPI for the backend, along with a frontend interface for interacting with its features.

The backend provides an API for the frontend to send requests and receive responses. I am working toward integrating Ollama with an open-weight language model to support local text summarization.

Running the model locally is an important part of the project because it can help keep user content on their own machine.

Open-source AI gives developers more control over how AI features work. It offers the flexibility to experiment with different models, explore local inference, and reduce dependence on external AI services.

For TaskZen AI, local inference is a key goal because it could allow users to summarize private text without sending it to a third-party AI API. It also makes the project easier to customize and extend as it develops.

TaskZen AI aims to reduce the time and effort spent reading long text by generating concise summaries. The idea is to help users focus on important information instead of manually reviewing every detail.

The time saved will be evaluated after the summarization feature is fully tested.
